The Guidelines for the 2021-2022 competition are released on the Guidelines page.
- The Group B Guidelines were updated today to correct a typo in the footer to correct the file name to Group B. No other changes were made.
These new items were added:
- Teams from more than one university may join together on their project. For example, one school may have a petroleum engineering program but not a controls and modeling program while another team my have just the opposite. Since the Drillbotics program is all about collaboration, this is a natural extension of the direction of the competition.
- Human factors are always considered when developing an automation system. Teams are required to study the basic issues involving how to include the human in the loop. Details and references are included in the Guidelines Appendix B.
- Depending on the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic next spring, the committee will decide whether or not we can safely hold a physical meeting. We will plan a hybrid session giving teams and judges an option to attend in person or virtually.
This year, the deadline for teams to register is earlier: 15 October. You can register online at the bottom of the same page.
