The Drillbotics® committee had a booth at the 2022 SPE/IADC Drilling Conference in Galveston. They highlighted the two winning teams from 2021 and the Platinum Sponsors for 2021-2022. They also had a display at the DSATS Symposium the day before the conference.
On Thursday, the paper from Group A by the University of Stavanger was presented: SPE-208774-MS “Autonomous Directional Drilling Using the RSS Simulator for the Drillbotics 2020-2021 Virtual Competition.” It is now available in OnePetro.
The Group B winner from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) will present SPE-209537 – Autonomous Directional Drilling With a Miniature-Scale Research Rig at the SPE Norway Subsurface Conference on 27 April 2022 Bergen Norway. They also submitted a paper to OMAE 2022 in Hamburg, Germany 5 June 2022 where they will present Paper 2022-80314 : “Design and Demonstration of Autonomous Directional Drilling With a Miniature Scale Rig.”

The Industry Steering Committee on Wellbore Survey Accuracy (ISCWSA) produces, maintains, and publishes standards for the industry, promoting a collaborative understanding of issues associated with wellbore surveying. They also formed the Wellbore Positioning Technical Section (WPTS) of SPE.
