Regarding the automation requirements. Design criteria –> c) Automation requirements: We are wondering what you mean by movement on/off bottom when it comes to the drilling mode: “Drilling mode/survey mode switching must be automated (i.e. built-in survey interval and drill string movement for on/off-bottom, slide/rotation mode switching)”
Regarding the sidebar on page 1:
As for the directional drilling scenario, what do you mean by “Directional drilling with two targets, but the second target may require a turn ?” Aren’t you going to only provide initial and target points as provided in last year´s competition?
- Will you position your bit on bottom when you take a survey? How long does it take to make a survey?
- The path starts at 0,0 then through point A and then point B. There may be a turn between point A and B. Last year there was no turn.
